Topic 6

1. Successful students think about how to study. They do not just “study”, diving into material, thoughtlessly trying to memorize it all. They absorb material selectively, building a framework of understanding that can be useful in new situations.
2. make thoughtful descisions about which things were more imprtant than others. 明白哪些东西别另外的更重要。
3. the strategic student does not just try to memorize the facts, because that is a very difficult exercise without a framework in which to put those facts. She takes note of illustrative facts, just enough to see how the bigger picture fits together. And she does that by engaging the material, by asking what it all means, and by getting help from instructors and others when that mean is unclear. She understands the difference between passive absorption and the selective effort at understanding.
   
   有策略的学生不仅仅是去尝试记住所有的知识点，因为在没有一个框架可以放进去所有知识点的情况下记忆是非常困难的。她记下说明性的知识点，感刚好足够她明白整个框架有多大。然后在意思不明确的时候，她通过询问所有含义，或者是从助教那里寻求帮助的方式整合这些材料。她明白被动吸收和选择性努力理解的区别。
